Foreign Helper vs Domestic Helper

2006年05月01日 Posted in: 隨心

A foreign domestic helper needs to work 6 days per week for $3270. Food and accommodation are supplied by the employer. Medical insurance is covered by the employment insurance package. A local worker has $3400 per month for the 6 days by 10 hours work weekly. But she has to pay for her own traveling expenses, food, and medical expenses. No free lunch or medical support/holiday would be provided by employer.  Which job is more attractive?

Tired

Remember the time when I was just graduated, I can work for long hours. And I had asked for nothing. I simply concentrate on the work. After the years of work, I start asking for myself what does it for? Why working day to night? Does it worth doing so? I am tired but I have to go to work tomorrow. That is life.

Dissolving Relationship

Getting into the mid 30s, more and more friends were getting into the stage of divorced. I cannot say whether it is due to human's errors or the cunning arrangement of god. But, I think most of us agree that it is getting more difficult to live. The environment is far more complex than what we ordinary people can handled - people do not treasure marriage, relationships, or even family. Instead, they fond on chasing for popularity and money. Take a look to the property advertisment, everyone needs to live with prospertiy. The message is very clear.

Mom of the children takes care of our babies 364 days a year. She needs to wake up during mid-nights and early mornings. On the 365th day, she is sick; therefore, she has one day off. No sick leave application is required. I have sat there for more than 300 days. Time to show off my household skills. Mom of the children is not as strong as before, partially due to the demand of the children (and the coffee intake daily). Time to take care of your health mom. I know I say it many times already.

Waking up in the early morning, all three of us sitting on the sofa and the high chair, awaiting for mom’s breakfast. There is nothing more comfortable that this kind of live. We are blessed.

Overloaded

My mom and my wife are two of the closest women to me, but I understand neither of them. I have never expected I can understand them both in a day because we think in different ways. They are from Venus but I am from Mars, according to a book. The challenge is that I need to keep them at the equalibrium point even thought I have no knowledge on any of them. If I can’t keep them balance, I will be over-loaded by the loading from the heavier side. No matter which side it is. That’s all I can say.

Complex Relationship

The relationship between my mom and my wife is very similar to the relationship between my colleagues and me. You just can say whether it is good or not. You better don’t understand it.
